There were a series of shocks in the ladies tournament at Roland Garros at Day 6 of the French Open.
The biggest casualty was number one seed Caroline Wozniacki who was not just beaten but destroyed by Daniela Hantuchova. Seed number 28 romped to a 6-1 6-3 win to ruin the Dane's dream of a maiden Grand Slam title.
Earlier in the day, Kim Clijsters suffered an uncharacteristic meltdown against Arantxa Rus. The Belgian was a set up and had two match points in the second but squandered both before crumbling in the third set to lose 3-6 7-5 6-1.
Australia's Samantha Stosur was another high-profile victim after bowing out to Argentina's Gisela Dulko 6-4 1-6 6-3.
In other matches Jelena Jankovic and defending champions Francesca Schiavone both claimed straight sets wins who now face each other in the next round.
